New gym to open next year offering customers a low cost 24/7 experience

A new gym is opening in Accrington at the start of next year, hoping to offer residents a low cost 24/7 gym experience.

The Gym Group are coming to Accrington and plan to open their first gym in the area, early in 2023 - with rumours stating it could open as early as January.

The exercise business group is the lowest cost nationwide 24/7 gym offering introductory membership starting at £12.99 for three months.

The Gym Group Accrington will be on the Eastgate Retail Park, a short walk from the town centre, also with free parking and public transport nearby.

Residents across the area have already been sharing their thoughts about the new gym on social media with some saying they can't wait to start their fitness journey and others not so happy as they would have preferred a new shop to replace the old Pound Stretcher store.

One resident said: "Can't wait for this to open."

Whilst another resident said: "Great its filled but would have preferred a shop."

One resident said: "No one's happy ever.

"Empty shop faces, people whine that the council aren't doing enough... a gym opens up in town creating five, six, seven jobs maybe more... couch warriors kick off."
